Introduction. After the disease COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus, many people recover completely, but others have symptoms that persist for weeks, months or even years after illness, with number of patients who are worried about signs Long-COVID constantly growing.
The aim. Study features epidemiological and clinical course, pathophysiological mechanisms long-COVID development, based on study analysis modern scientific data establishment causal relationships damage to nervous cardiovascular systems.

P2X7 Receptors in Neurological and Cardiovascular Disorders

P2X receptors are ATP-gated cation channels that mediate fast excitatory transmission in diverse regions of the brain and spinal cord. Several P2X receptor subtypes, including P2X(7), have the unusual property of changing their ion selectivity during prolonged exposure to ATP, which results in a channel pore permeable to molecules as large as 900 daltons. The P2X(7) receptor was originally desc...

P87: The Role of the Long Non-Coding RNA Sequences (LncRNAs) in Neurological Disorders

Precise interpretation of the transcriptome sequences in the several species showed that the major part of genome has been transcribed; however, just a few amounts of the transcription sequences have open-reading frames which are conversed during the evolution. So, it is unlikely that many of the transcribed sequences code the proteins. Among the all human non-coding transcripts, at least 10000...

Hypotheses on Mechanisms Linking Cardiovascular and Psychiatric/Neurological Disorders

This special issue of Cardiovascular Psychiatry and Neurology marks its first year since we launched the open access journal dedicated to publishing original preclinical/basic and research on biological mechanisms of and treatments for co-occurring cardiovascular disorders and disorders of the central nervous system (CNS). As suggested earlier (by the paper entitled " The heart-brain connection...

Stem Cell Therapy in Pediatric Neurological Disorders

Pediatric neurological disorders including muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and spinal cord injury are defined as a heterogenous group of diseases, of which some are known to be genetic. The two significant features represented for stem cells, leading to distinguish them from other cell types are addressed as below: they can renew themselves besides the ability to differentiate into cells wi...

Neurological Disorders

Historically, policy makers and researchers have used mortality statistics as the principal measure of the seriousness of diseases, based on which countries and organizations have launched disease control programs. Mortality statistics alone, however, underestimate the suffering caused by diseases that may be nonfatal but cause substantial disability. Many neurological and psychiatric condition...
